| Having been face-to-face and about two inches nose-from-nose with Oliver Reed 30-odd years ago, I would say he was around 5ft 10 inches. As far as I was aware he was wearing normal shoes when we met in the bar of an hotel in Southsea while he was filming Tommy. I arrived to find Keith Moon literally leaping into my arms and begging me to save him from being thrown out of the hotel for blowing up the toilet bowl in his room. In the bar I was pressed into service making Tequilla Sunsets for Roger Daltry and Ken Russell as the comic Ted Ray was carried upstairs ( don't know why he was there!). Then Olly appeared with his minder Reg, told me he did not like the look of my face (we were said to be very similar in appearance) and said he was going to alter it. Luckily, his bouncer stepped in and put all my drinks on Mr Reed's bill for the night. I liked him. Ken Russell said I made a great cocktail and offered to make me a movie star but I never followed it up... | ||
